Introducing The Loro Piana Loom Bag
When Loro Piana began to conceptualise its next creation, it dreamt
of a masterpiece that would encapsulate its heritage, savoir-faire and
use of superlative materials. The Italian hyperluxury house didn’t have
to look beyond its own workshop for design cues. Inspiration came from
the drape of fabric over the heddle bar of a loom. The result is Loro
Piana’s latest release – the Loom Bag.
A New Classic
Loro Piana, a name synonymous with textile artistry and a century-old legacy of craftsmanship, unveils the Loro Piana Loom bag. More than just an accessory, it’s the perfect representation of the brand’s DNA, where history, innovation and exquisite materials converge in perfect harmony.
The double-handled carryall is aptly named the loom bag. Its sleek design is inspired by fabric draping across the bar of a loom, paying homage to the Maison’s roots in textiles. Its shape is undeniably simple, showcasing the bag’s unmatched quality and craft, not only made of super-soft-grained leather, but also smooth calfskin and cotton canvas.
The bag’s defining feature is its metal bar, which adds a subtle but
interesting signature detail to an otherwise classic
silhouette—precisely what you’d expect from Loro Piana. Undeniably sleek
and chic, the carryall is further accented by a rounded lock bearing an
understated LP and a leather key holder that nods to vintage designs.
The bag’s clasp is a miniature gold-tone lock marked “LP”, Loro Piana’s initials. To access your belongings, simply pull on the U-shaped shackle to unlock and lift the flap. Otherwise the tote can be safely carried with the lock unfastened and flap tucked inside for casual, off-duty chic.
Aside from calfskin, the modern classic-in-the-making comes in durable cotton and linen canvas variants, catering to diverse lifestyles without compromising style. A standout piece includes the antique cotton version with its irregular, natural finish exuding a rustic charm.
Initially introduced in the L32 size, a smaller size, the Loom 25 was recently added to the lineup alongside new seasonal fabrications like raw undyed cashmere and a large weekender.
